Argentine Cooking Class and Dinner
Discover the secrets of Creole gastronomy when you take our fun Argentine Cooking Class. Later, you will then taste the succulent flavors of this cuisine for yourself when you enjoy a delicious traditional dinner.
What does this gastronomic experience consist of?
At 6:15 pm we will meet up at The Argentina Experience restaurant in the heart of the Buenos Aires' Palermo district. Your evening is divided into three stages:
Wine and tapas class and tasting
We begin with a tasting of delicious Argentine wine, learning to distinguish between the different varieties and the main characteristics. The drinks will also be accompanied by a selection of regional tapas to whet your appetite.
Next, you will learn how to make cocktails using the drinks that you have just tried. Each participant will confect their own drink, following the instructions and advice of our master 'coctelero'.
Creole pastries class
In this part of the activity, you will put on your cooking hat and apron and learn to cook a recipe for Creole empanada pastries. You will follow the traditional methods and techniques but prepare the recipe to your own liking.
As our empanadas are cooking, we will quell our hunger pangs with traditional grilled provoleta, a variety of the famous Italian provolone cheese. We will also prepare some toasted bread with Chimichurri sauce, which will accompany the meat in the meal later.
Argentine dinner
At around 8 pm, the moment we have all been waiting for has arrived: the Argentine dinner, during which you will also try two different wines. For the main course, you will have 'bife de lomo' tenderloin steak, one of the classic meat cuts of the country. An option for vegetarians is also available. The main course is also served with a garnish of mashed potatoes and roast vegetables. For dessert, the chef will show you how to prepare Argentine 'Alfajores', delicious sweets with ingredients such as chocolate and cocoa.
Our evening concludes with mate, a traditional Argentine infusion which is very popular all across the country. The instructors of the class will even show you how to prepare the drink at home.
