Authentic Argentine Barbeque
Enjoy a typical Argentine 'asado' in Palermo, one of the most popular neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. A truly authentic gastronomic experience!
Authentic Argentine Barbeque
At 10:30 am, we'll meet on the central street of Calle El Salvador. From there, we'll begin a brief walking tour through Palermo, one of the city's most popular areas!
We'll stroll through Plaza Inmigrantes de Armenia and visit a traditional butcher's shop, where we'll pick up all the necessary ingredients for an authentic 'asado,' a typical Argentine barbecue. You'll experience Buenos Aires like a local!
Continuing on to the streets of Old Palermo, we'll stop to visit a 'verdulería' (vegetable shop) and a traditional bakery. Then, we'll head to a local wine shop to pick up some wine to drink with lunch.
Once we've got everything we need, we'll make our way to a local residence to all help prepare the 'asado.' We'll make the chimichurri and salads, light the grill, and sip on a typical Argentine drink called 'fernandito,' made with fernet and cola.
When the grill is hot and ready to go, we'll cook typical meats like chorizo and 'matambritos de cerdo' (pork belly) as well as a variety of different cuts of beef. The food will have your mouth watering!
While we all enjoy a delicious lunch, well also learn about the different customs of a local Argentine 'asado.' Then, you'll try mate, accompanied by a typical dessert called 'vigilante' (cheese topped with a thick jam). A complete Argentine gastronomic experience!
At 3:30 pm, this traditional 'asado' experience in Palermo will come to a close.
